Julie & Chad: Wedding

I love being apart of wedding days. They follow a similar pattern, but there's always so many aspects that make each one unique. Chad and Julie had a gorgeous day for a wedding! We had so much fun and I'm so glad we were a part of the celebration.

We had just a few moments of daylight to work with after the ceremony, and the whole bridal party was so awesome considering the temperature dropped a bit!

We spent time with just the newlyweds before heading to the reception:

Their cake was a beautiful addition to fall theme resounding throughout the day.

There's something so beautiful about the way a couple looks into each other eyes during their first dance.

And last, but not least... I wish I could take credit for this one, but it was all Chad... My Chad, that is :)

Jackie & Chris: Wedding

Chris and Jackie's wedding day was an absolutely stunning event! All of the details, the locations, and (of course!) the amazing couple made for an awesome wedding. If Chad and I were to plan our wedding all over again, it would look a lot like this!

The ceremony was very emotional.. Jackie, you're so adorable!

I love this moment that every couple experiences on their wedding day :)

We had an AMAZING location for their formals. All of these were shot on one piece of property.

How much fun is that swing??

And how could I pass up an outdoor spiral staircase?

Nabia: Senior Session

I love my clients! They inspire me! And Nabia was no exception. She has such a great style, and is really a natural in front of the camera. And such a trooper! It was not warm or nice out by any means... I was wearing a coat, arm warmers, a hat, boots. If it had been me in front of the camera, I wouldn't look half as great as she looks!

Kim & Dan: Engagement Session

Wow. Dan and Kim completely rocked their session out! We shot at the gorgeous Stan Hywet Gardens. With weather reports saying rain, rain, rain- we were SO happy to not see or feel one drop the whole time :) And hello- hot couple!! Check out the preview!

Lauren & Matt: Engagement Session

I think my favorite part of portrait sessions is the oportunity to shoot at a new location. It makes my mind run wild with new ideas :)
Matt, Lauren, and I went all over downtown Cleveland. We started the shoot at a location that's very special for the two of them. On the night Matt proposed, they dined at the Great Lakes Brewing Co. I loved that we were able to incorporate that into their photos! Hope you enjoy the preview!

Jessamyn & Jeffrey: Engagement Session

What is there not to love about shooting engagement sessions?? It's so great to spend time talking and laughing with couples, really getting to know them. Jeffrey and Jessamyn's session was amazing- every aspect of the shoot was perfect! These two are crazy about each other :) We had the coolest old house out in the middle of nowhere as our backdrop, and the light was oh-so-golden. I'm so excited about these photos! Enjoy the preview!

As I was taking this one I knew exactly what I wanted, but I wasn't sure if I got it. When I saw this image on my monitor, it made my day :) ...PS- Now I want a photo of Chad and I exactly like this one- any takers? :)

Anne & Michael: Wedding

I'm so excited to finally post all of these weddings, because they are so awesome! This one is going to be ridiculously long... I couldn't narrow these down any more, I have too many favorites!
Anne and Michael's wedding was here in Canton. Anne and Michael preferred to not see each other before the ceremony, so we started the day with Anne and her bridesmaids, then met up with Michael and all of the guys. They had a beautiful ceremony, and an amazing reception at the McKinley Grand in downtown. It was such an awesome wedding to be a part of- thanks so much Anne and Michael!!!

After we finished up with the ladies, we met the guys at the McKinley Monument. I knew Michael would be great in front of the camera, from their engagement session, but you never know how the rest of the groomsmen will be :) They were all great though!

There were some emotional moments just before the ceremony.

"Happy" is such an understatement for these two on their wedding day :)

The toasts made by their friends and family were great. At times everyone in the room was laughing:

And during others, their wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Once dinner was finished, the party began! This might be one of my all-time favorite reception shots, hahah.

Chelsay & Kevin: Wedding

Shooting Kevin & Chelsay's wedding was an absolute joy for Chad and I. They gave us plenty of time for creative portraits and bridal party photos... not to mention the fact that their church was gorgeous, they had a horse drawn carriage, and they are head-over-heels-crazy in love with each other! :)

At the end of the night, I stepped out with Kevin and his groomsmen while they smoked cigars... I don't know anything about cigars, but I'm pretty sure they had really good ones, hah :)

Jenny & Matt: Wedding

Matt and Jenny had their beautiful wedding and reception at the Avalon Country Club. Their ceremony was very personal and the reception was a non-stop celebration! Chad and I were excited to shoot Matt and Jenny's wedding because we knew were going to see some familiar faces. We photographed Jenny's cousin (Danielle's) wedding last October. We're so thankful for all of our clients, and we're so glad we were there to be a part of Matt and Jenny's wedding day!

The ceremony!

I mentioned earlier that their ceremony was a very personal one. Instead of the traditional unity candle, Matt and Jenny had a wine pouring ceremony.

We had a short window of clear skies after the ceremony, and we were able to find some gorgeous locations around the golf course.

The reception began with the newly wed's first dance.

I love the way Jenny's father is smiling ear to ear, so proud of his daughter :)

Everyone was out on the dance floor!

Dan: Senior Session

I absolutely love the creative freedom that comes with senior sessions. Dan was up for anything, his only request was that we shot "out in the country". I can handle that :) When he showed up in his pick up truck, I was flooded with ideas. We had some gorgeous light to work with, too.

What's more out in the country that corn fields :)

Dan was so relaxed in front of the camera, and it really came through in his photos.

We played around with some off camera lighting, too- I'm happy with the results!

Dani, Nate, Faith, Zack: Family Session

Can I just tell you how much I love photographing this family?? They are so amazing to work with and they're all beautiful- inside and out. I had so much fun on this shoot :)

I just finished reading a great post on one of my favorite blogs, Eat Healthy!!! Be Happy!!!. You can read it HERE. There's a lot to it, so I'm not going to try and explain it all, but it's on the subject of how pharmaceutical companies market/sell drugs to the healthy, not just the sick. Very interesting stuff. Check it out!

Alexis, Peyton, & Addi: Family Session

I love photographing these girls! We did a shoot last fall, and I can't believe how much they have changed. We had great weather and amazing light to work with. Seriously, how cute are these girls??

Meredith: Senior Session

I never ever get tired of senior sessions- I know I'm always going to be inspired! Meredith's session was so much fun! We had such a gorgeous setting to work with, her outfits were so cute, and she even had some friends there to be a part of the shoot.

I know it's going to be a good shoot when I have the same shirt as the client ;)

This one reminded me of an old film. I love her contemplative expression.

Lynisa: Senior Session

Yesterday, a client told me she could tell that what I do is my passion, where my heart is, not just my "job". Everyday I think about how blessed I am to do what I love, but it makes me happy that people can see that in me. :)

Lynisa's shoot was one of those sessions that made my mind race with ideas; I felt like I was able to think in new ways. We had ridiculously amazing light and as you can see Lynisa is gorgeous! (A big thanks to Crystal for being the on-sight make up/hair stylist... and just for being awesome.)

Tyra & Brian: Wedding

So much for my "Lots of posts today!" post... At least I got one posted :D

Anyway, this post is overdue! Brian and Tyra's wedding day was everything we hope for in a wedding. Everything went according to plan and we had lots of time to have fun with the photos. The church was so beautiful, too! (I don't know why so many churches have red/burgendy carpet and yellow windows, haha). And their reception was a BLAST! The dance floor was full all night and so much fun to photograph.

Baby Kylie: Family Session

A Squirrel.

That is the reason I have been without the internet for the past 36 hours: A squirrel.

Apparently, a squirrel chewed through our cable line, right where it comes out of the house. The repair man said it happens all of the time, but hopefully that will be the last time it happens to us!

Johanna & Nicholas: Wedding

Where have I been??? Things have been so busy around here, blogging has been put on the back burner. We are staying busy with shoots and weddings AND working on our house! We (Chad, my dad and I) layed floor in my office over the weekend, sealed our blacktop driveway, an even found a few moments to just sit, chat, and enjoy each others company.

Onto the wedding!

Nick and Jo's wedding was everything we dreamed it would be :) We photographed Jo's sister, Sophia's wedding last summer and instantly connected with the whole family. It was so great to see everyone again! Jo's bridesmaids were so much fun to hang out with all day! The whole bridal party was amazing! We had PERFECT weather, even though storms were forcasted all week. And hello, Nick and Jo are gorgeous!!!
Chad and I had so much fun and we can't wait to see all of you again! Thanks again!!

This was such a beautiful moment; they were singing "Amazing Grace". I took this photo and tears started welling up in my eyes. I had to walk away! You would think after so many weddings it would get less and less emotional- but that is not the case for me!

Michael: Senior Session

Here's another senior I can't believe is a senior! Michael was a lot of fun to photograph- we came across some new locations and had perfect weather to shoot in. I find it to be more of a challenge to photograph guys, but Michael was full of input and great in front of the camera! Enjoy the preview!!

I'd like to think I'm funny, but we were probably laughing at something he said.

Zack: Senior Session

I had a GREAT time with Zack, his mom, and his sister (photo-shoot extradorinaire) Erin. It's funny to think of someone as your friends younger sibling for so long- thinking they'll never get any older. Then you realize "Oh yeah, he's going to graduate from high school this year!!!" (Which is the case for both of the senior sessions I had this week.)
Zack is such an easy going person, I knew his session would be laid back and a lot of fun. We all toughed out the heat and got some really great shots. Enjoy :)

Shawna & Kyle: Destination Wedding

Kyle and Shawna's wedding was such an amazing experience! The wedding took place on Hilton Head Island, in South Carolina. Chad and I were so excited to be a part of it. The day went perfectly- as the photographer, I couldn't have asked for more :) Both of these really, really, ridiculously good-looking friends of ours know how to work it for the camera. We had so much fun photographing them!!

I knew this was going to be a fun wedding to shoot- but it surpassed my expectations!! These two are so sweet and a lot of fun to be around, which is reflected in all of their friends and family. Here is a quick recap of the day:

Out of the Office

Dani and Kaitlyn: Senior Session

I had SO much fun with these two!!! They are both soooo photogenic- not to mention two of the sweetest and most mature teenagers you'll ever meet. All three of us have been excited for this shoot for a long time! The weather was perfect and we found some new locations- it was an amazing shoot!

I'm going to be honest and open with all of you blog readers... I didn't do this on purpose:

Vanessa & Brian: Wedding

Moving + weddings + portrait sessions + life = not a lot of time to blog! But I'm catching up :)

Chad and I couldn't have asked for a better day with Brian and Vanessa. It's always fun to photograph a friend's wedding- especially when their whole family is so awesome!!

I spent the first part of the day with the ladies while Chad photographed the guys.

The ring bearer's pillow and Vanessa's garter were HAND MADE by a relative for her! I couldn't believe it! (Side note: Vanessa couldn't find the jewelry she wanted- so she made her own!)

I don't have any sisters, so I'm always interested in seeing the bond between sisters. I loved watching Vanessa's sisters and their mom help her put her dress on.

A very emotional moment as Vanessa read the letter Brian had written her for their wedding day.

Josh & Jillian: Wedding

I could write 972498 pages about how amazing Josh and Jillian's wedding was! I was so honored that they asked me to capture their wedding. At first, I was nervous about it. Josh asked Chad to be his best man, so that meant I would be shooting solo. But, thanks to some awesome friends, there ended up being 3 other photographers! Thank you very much to Jamie Jansen, Scott Watt, and Hollie Stefaniak!! Also, thanks to Josh and Jillian for being smoking hott! You all made my life easier that day :D On to the photos:

Josh and Jillian decided to see each other before the ceremony (Which I highly recommend!) The next few moments that followed were so beautiful and emotional. Here's the moment right before Josh saw his beautiful bride-to-be.

Chad and I have been so blessed by our clients! We've been welcomed in like family and treated like the best of friends. That is reason enough for us to love what we do! On top of that, we get to document people and families on one of the most important days of their lives. AND we get to create fun art. We're so blessed!
Tina and Mark were married at the BEAUTIFUL Oak Lodge in Stahlstown, PA. Everywhere you turned was another picturesque location. And hello: Tina is so incredibly gorgeous!!! Mark is such a great guy, and he gave a really sweet toast at the reception which had the whole room choked up! The whole day was wonderful :)

!!!!! <-- That is how I feel about these photos. I love them! This shoot was so unique and so much for me. Ari is such a cool girl (and a future rockstar photographer!). Ann & Michael: Wedding

Day 2 of our Glenmoor weekend! The whole weekend carried a theme of laid-back brides and beautiful details. I'm so glad we were there to document Ann and Michael's wedding day. Ann has a timeless beauty to her, and her dress complimented that perfectly... almost as much as she and Michael complimented each other!

Jamie & David: Wedding

It just so happened that the only 2 Glenmoor weddings we had this year were happening back to back. Jamie and David's wedding was on a Friday (followed by Ann and Michael's on Saturday). Maxx & Vycki: Wedding

Maxx and Vycki's wedding day was incredible! This was a non-stop event and we had so much being a part of it!

The day started off with a traditional Vietnamese ceremony. It was a very beautiful and emotional ceremony.

After the first ceremony (and some good food!) it was off to St. Michael's here in Canton for the Catholic ceremony. This church was wonderful to shoot in- it's so bright and white and pretty!

The reception was held at the Mckinley Grand Hotel in downtown.

I love when couples are completely drawn in by one another, and it seems like the whole rest of the world has faded away.

Karen & Ian: Wedding

Chad and I had such a wonderful time at Ian and Karen's wedding! The day started off with big gray clouds that didn't look too promising. But, thanks to much prayer, the day turned out perfect! The ceremony was so touching and emotional. The day ended at the beautiful Salem Golf Club. It was our first time shooting there and we really enjoyed it.

I'm still undecided as to whether to post slideshows or individual photos.. but today I feel like letting you in on the stories behind each photo!

If I was asked to describe Tori in one word, I wouldn't be able to do it! This girl does it all! She's incredibly sweet, but there's no doubt she's tough and can handle her horses (and steer!). I cannot say enough good things about Kevin and Danielle! What an amazing couple. Danielle was SO excited from our very first meeting, and so was I! It's so much fun for Chad and I to photograph weddings when we're welcomed like family. :)

I can't believe I haven't blogged these yet! How cool is this-- we shot in the cake shop where Dennis proposed to Sarah!! It's called The White Flower Cake Shoppe in Cleveland. The cake shop was so cute and quaint and an awesome change of scenery for me :) Major props to Dennis for picking out an awesome proposal location! Chad and I had SO much fun at their wedding! I had been excited for their wedding since our very first meeting. After their engagement session, I came home and couldn't stop telling Chad how much fun I had. It was like hanging out with old friends :) That was exactly how the wedding day felt, too. Jenni and Eric were surrounded by great friends and loving family members-- and let me tell you they all can dance! I don't know if I've ever seen a dance floor stay so crowded all night! It was awesome to photograph. The whole day was incredible; thank you so much, Eric and Jenni, for letting us be there to capture your wedding day!!

Logan Rhodes: Birth Story/Portraits

WOW!!! I am sooo excited about these photographs! I am so honored that Josh and Heather allowed me to be there to document the birth of Logan. After missing many phone calls between midnight and 1:30am (I'm really bad at waking up- sorry Josh :) but I'm glad you kept calling!) I headed down to the hospital to document Logan's delivery.
Capturing those moments was not something I took lightly. My hopes in taking these photographs is that Josh and Heather will be able to relive all of the emotions of the event every time they see them. (That is my intention during every shoot or wedding.. but this one especially!) Thank you so much, Josh and Heather, for letting me be a part of such a wonderful time in your lives! I love you THREE very much!!!!

Can you believe the last wedding we shot before Nikki and Bryan's was Erin and Dan's back in November?!

Nikki and Bryan had a beautiful wedding! I know I say that a lot- but look!!! Nikki chose a great color scheme in her bridesmaid's dresses, flowers, her shoes, and the cake. Everything complimented each other so well. The entire day was held at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse. The building itself is enough to make any photographer happy :) Add a beautiful bride who loves being in front of the camera to that and you have yourself a very happy photographer.

Molly: Senior Session (take two)

What a perfect day for Molly's session! We almost went out Thursday but I'm so glad we waited til today. We had beautiful light everywhere we went. You might recognize Molly if you follow my blog. I did Molly's first session back in the fall. But, she recently got a pretty drastic haircut, so we went out again :) Molly is so easy to photograph... She has the most gorgeous and unique eyes! Her boyfriend (and client of mine), Nate came out with us and made for an excellent assistant! Enjoy the preview:

These three were captured after an encounter we had with an interesting Canal Fulton resident. Basically... he thought we were spies sent to take photos of his inventory to send to his "competitors". Yep.

Marci: Senior Session

I had SO much fun today!! I've known Marci for a while (she's a friend of my brother) and although I haven't photographed her before today, she was very natural and comfortable in front of my camera. Even though the weather was kind of "blah", Marci totally worked it. I was chilly in my 2 layers, peacoat, and gloves... and looking at her you would never know it! She was wicked easy to photograph and just fun to be around. :)

We were joined by Anna, Marci's personal stylist :) and Austin... I have no idea how Marci kept her composure so well while this (right) was going on the whole time behind me, hahahah.

I didn't want to categorize this entry "Children", because these two are on there way into adulthood! They will be celebrating their bar/bat mitzvahs this summer and needed some portraits for the event. I've been looking forward to their session for a long time! Ever since I first spoke with their mother over the phone I knew this was going to be an awesome shoot. We had to postpone the shoot twice because of the unreal weather we've been having. :( BUT, we went out today and had a great time.

Blog Neglect: Time to Update

I've been neglecting this pretty little blog lately :( I haven't been shooting, but I have been doing a lot of album designing! (Which I love). Part of the reason my shooting has been limited is the weather we've had lately. We were literally snowed in over the weekend. Earlier that week, we were left without power for almost 24 hours. I am ready for SPRING!! :)
Anyway, I am so excited for our weddings this year! We've got so many amazing brides and grooms to photograph. We're going to be photographing our receptions a lot differently this year and I can't wait to show you the results!
We also have a biggggg change in the works for our business this year. I really can't stress enough that I'M EXCITED for this year!

Chad and I saw two AMAZING movies recently and I thought I'd share them with you! *Please note, I'm neither a movie critic nor writer :)

The first movie we saw was Into the Wild. First of all, it's an amazing true story. Add that to the incredible cast, direction, and soundtrack and you have this moving and beautiful-to-look-at film.

We saw Lars and the Real Girl yesterday. I've been wanting to see this since I first heard about it last fall and we never got around to it until last night. I was so impressed with Ryan Gosling's performance! The characters were so real it was eerie at times. I loved it!

I apologize for completely disappearing for the last month! To you, who have been stopping by lately, I hope this post makes up for some of that :)

Chad and I had an AMAZING shoot with one of the coolest guys on the earth. This is John Pope. John is an incredibly talented guy. He's a musician / photographer / cinematographer / SUPER creative person! John's got a new website in the works and needed some photos for it. I'll be sure to put a link to his site on here when it's up.
We shot all of these in downtown Canton yesterday and had pretty decent weather considering today was -20* with the wind chill. I love the end results of this shoot and I can't wait to work with John again!!

My Uncle, Barry

I'm not one to post most of my personal life on my blog. I like to keep it mainly about the photos, because that's probably why you're here.

However, I'd like to use this entry to pay tribute to my uncle, Barry Girard, who passed away on December 31, 2007. It was unexpected, but I know if you asked him, he would tell you he lived a full life. He traveled all over, met and befriended amazing people, listened to good music, was an incredible chef, and was the best uncle my brother and I could have asked for.
For my 13th birthday, he took me on a trip to Mackay, Idaho. He had lived there for a time in his life and wanted to share the incredible beauty and experiences with me. It was on that trip I took my first "real photos". (By real photos, I mean not holding the camera out in front of my face with some friends for a whole roll.) I guess I began taking time to think about my compositions, not just "look, snap, wind, repeat".. We developed all of the film the minute we arrived back in Chicago. He told me he was impressed with the shots I was able to get with my very unimpressive camera. I still cherish those photos and the memories of the trip.

I've been away from the blog for a long timre! I apologize for that. This was a very busy holiday season for us. I was able to spend some nice time with my family and friends.

Two of my photos from the Cameneti family session last fall appeared on billboards throughout our county at the end of December. I'm very happy with them. Here it is:

Hi! It's been so long since I've posted, time is flying right now. I haven't been shooting too much this month, but I assure you we're staying busy.
As our first full year of business comes to a close, I want to say THANK YOU!!! to all of our amazing new clients! :) It's the highest compliment to me when current clients are telling their family and friends to use us. We've been referred by people we haven't even worked with!
This year has been so incredible and Chad and I are so excited for 2008.

Ann & Michael: E-Session

Over the holiday break, I had a nice engagement session with a wonderful couple. Ann and Michael braved the cold (while I whined like a baby) and were great models! Thanks again, Ann and Michael, for taking time out of your holiday weekend to hang out and shoot with me!
Side Note: I've been sooo pleased with the photos I'm getting with my 5d. It's been refreshing and I'm inspired to shoot all the time. :)

Daniel & Erin: Wedding

Last weekend, Chad and I shot the wedding of an amazing couple, Erin and Dan. These two were so easy to photograph and so much fun to be around! And it's always great to see friends from previous weddings. (One of Erin's bridesmaids is Danielle's sister.) Thanks again Erin and Dan for allowing us to be there to capture your special day!!

WOW!!! We had a great weekend with the McClungs :) Our good friend Amber took us along to her home town of Clarksburg, WV to shoot her sister's (Brittney) senior photos. This was our first two day senior session(Hence the lengthy preview). Brittney was amazing in front of the camera and we had a blast with all of the new locations!

We had SUCH a great time with Shaun, Heather, and everyone who was a part of their wedding day!
